Alexandra Philipsen, MD, is Director and Professor of the Department of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy, University of Bonn. Since 2021, she is also Deputy Medical Director of the University Hospital Bonn. She underwent training as a clinical psychiatrist at the Department of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy, University Freiburg. Moreover, she is supervisor for cognitive behaviour therapy and dialectical behaviour therapy. Her main scientific focus is on translational therapy research on attention and emotion regulation- especially ADHD in adults and borderline personality disorder. She is very interested in further improving psychotherapy for adults with ADHD. In order to further develop behavioural interventions that are as precise as possible in terms of precision psychiatry and psychotherapy she is interested in deep behavioural phenotyping of adult ADHD. Her expertise includes in particular the development and evaluation of pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatments including digital tools as well as to develop and conduct clinical trials. In addition to her management function and medical duties in the clinic, she is therefore principal investigator and co-leader of several studies and clinical trials. Besides that she is (co-)author of numerous research papers as well as book contributions and active in a range of national and international networks and organisations (e.g. The European College of Neuropsychopharmacology (ECNP), German Association for Psychiatry, Psychotherapy and Psychosomatics (DGPPN), Board member of the university professors of psychiatry (LIPPs)).
